How Levine's is responding to
COVID-19 in our community
At Joseph Levine & Sons the safety and well-being of our employees, community and the families we serve is always our top priority and we recognize the important role we play in providing a vital service to the community. We are actively monitoring the COVID-19/Coronavirus situation and are taking additional steps to help keep our communities safe.
We wanted to share some of those steps.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has updated its guidelines regarding large group gatherings and events, considering the ongoing effort to combat the spread of coronavirus in the country. The new CDC guideline recommends against holding any events or group gatherings of 10 or more people across the U.S. for at least the next eight weeks.
In accordance with this recommendation, Joseph Levine & Sons will no longer be able to conduct a PUBLIC chapel service in any of our locations. For now, a private chapel service for immediate family only, may take place. Chapel services, at our Trevose location only can be streamed online with family permission.
Families may also elect and are encouraged to have a graveside service. The Board of Rabbis of Philadelphia and our firm highly recommend that Shiva services be private or not held at all during this time.
Our thanks to the families we serve and the community for their understanding and support while we implement, what we hope are temporary changes to the way that we have served them since 1883. Please reach out to our firm if you have questions and regularly check our website or social media accounts for additional updates from our firm.
